Greenwich Planning and Zoning has a new pending application (not yet scheduled for a meeting) for a new dialysis center, Fresenius Medical Care, at 469 West Putnam Avenue. The owner is Cortese Real Estate LLC, registered to Yolanda and Frank Cortese.

According to the application narrative, the first floor of the building is currently occupied by a jobbing business, a fitness center and a personal service salon, with a total of 8,862 sq ft.

All three will be combined into the one space for the dialysis center and all existing 44 parking spots for those three uses will be available for patients and staff of the dialysis center. (The parking count is based on one space per every 150 sq ft of usable floor area.)

A health center is a permitted use in the LB zone, but a site plan is required.

The existing Subway sandwich store will remain. That has 987 square feet and 5 parking spaces.

The second floor office space, 5384 sq ft will remain. That has 28 parking spaces.

Every year, millions of pilgrims travel to Lourdes the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains of France, to visit the Grotto of Massabielle, also known as the Grotto of the Apparitions, and pray to Our Lady of Lourdes, which is the Roman Catholic title of Mary, mother of Jesus. She is venerated in honor of the Marian apparitions that occurred there.

After their proposal for a new Smilow Cancer Center on the corner of Lafayette and Lake Ave was denied by the Planning & Zoning commission last August, Greenwich Hospital has come up with a new proposal that takes into consideration concerns from both neighbors and the commission. Greenwich Hospital president Diane Kelly took questions from residents on Zoom, Thursday, March 24, 2022 Back on that August night after neighbors railed against the plans, citing years of having concerns about noise and delivery trucks, generator testing and even homeless people sleeping in a hospital courtyard fall on deaf ears, the P&Z commission voted 5-0 to reject the proposal.
